Hi all;

Are there any plans afoot about flotilla cruising the inside passage from the Vancouver/Seattle area up to Alaska or thereabouts in the next year or so? If so I would be interested in such an endeavour. Any others interested?

Cheers

Several people on this site have mentioned going this year and several more for 2014. I hope for 2014 depending on retirement and selling the house. Keep your eyes open for conversations.

I would be interested about an inside passage cruise in 2014. I just bought a 28 ft cutwater and need to get acquainted with it. But if anyone or any group is putting something together I would certainly like to be informed.

We just took possession of an R-27 and plan to spend some time on our home waters (Northern California Delta) for a few weeks and then may continue cruising the PNW this summer. More to the point, my wife and I would like to be kept in the loop for a 2014 cruise further up the Inside Passage. The idea sounds exciting and we know we would want to do the trip with other boats. ---Stu

Definitely would like to do that inside passage in 2014. Maybe an extension of the Desolation Sound trip if that is on the Ranger Tugs agenda next year?

It's starting to look like a convoy!

You need to be up north much earlier than the Desolation trip dates, you really need to be south of Port Hardy by Sept. 1 to make the weather window. It can be done quicker but if you want to enjoy it plan on a 2-3 month trip.

Don, really appreciate your reply. You can be sure in 2014 I will be a "follower" on the Inside Passage. Since we have easy access to Lk Washington Karyn and I are going through the learning curve in fresh water. We did our foray through the Ballard locks on a weekday hoping there would not be a mob of boats. Karyn drove and I handled the ropes. Actually an easy process if you just listen to the line handlers. Much less stress when we returned 4 hrs later now that we had the first passage under our belts. Want to get as many hours on the water as possible before we join the convoy to Desolation.

Hi Jim and Karyn,
We just got back from three very fun days at Friday Harbor as guests at a C-Brats gathering. (I think our Ranger Tug made some secret converts!) We are still looking at an Inside Passage trip next year. It's still very much in the talking/planning stage, but if you and others are getting up a flotilla of TugNuts to Alaska we'd very much like to come along.

This is something I would love to do. Keep us in mind for 2014 . Lloyd and Nancy on the Lazy L, 28' Cutwater.
