I HAVE A 2016 RANGER TRAWLER, AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THE VESSEL HAS TO BE LIFTED OUT OF THE WATER TO INSTALL A SHEAR PIN? iN ADDTION DOES ANYONE KNOW SOMEONE THAT IS FAMILIAR WITH THIS BOAT IN THE NEW YORK, NASSAU COUNTY AREA.

The shear pins can be replaced while in the water. You have to remove the thruster motor from the inside, which is not easy. If you're not familiar with the procedure, it may be best to hire a mechanic.
I'm across the country, and don't know who in your area to call.

I believe ther eis a dealer on Long Island. Perhaps he can direct you to a mechanic. Find someone limber with long arms and likes to work upside down. There are a few threads on this site explaining how to remove the motor. Make sure you have the special hex ratchet, which should have come with the boat. The mechanic will need this to remove the two bolts otherwise he will spend some time modifying one. He can probably replace the pin without removing the motor from below .
