Hello all,

Hoping someone can provide some guidance as we are getting ready to install our new Weaver Davit System to our swim deck.

We have the Weaver Snap system with the 4" raise and 4" extension. We do have a larger dinghy (10') so know we will have to offset as we tend to dock to port. Does anyone have any recommendation on where or how to determine where to mount the brackets on the swim platform? The instructions are not great and just want to see what everyone else has done, and see any photos of recent installs.

Look forward to hearing what everyone has done, thanks in advance for the help.

Thank you!

There are a couple of pics in my photo album in the U-Dek folder showing the davits on my 25SC. The 25 and the 27 have the same swim deck. I have an 8' Achilles dinghy. The brackets are through bolted with fender washers and locking nuts underneath the deck. The boat is in RI and I am in FL so I can't provide any measurements. It will be great to see another Ranger Tug on Narragansett Bay.

I installed the weaver snap davits. I have a 8'10"Gala. I offset the davits so the stern tubes were 2" past the transom on port side hull and 7.5" past the starboard transom side hull.

I have a couple of drawings with dimensions of mounting locations on the swim platform and the location of the pads glued on the inflatable if you are interested PM me. I made two stainless steel plates that I used for backing plates. When I drilled the mounting holes I found the platform had wood in it for support and the fiberglass layer on the bottom side was very thin. The plates are 4"X 4" I used the supplied 1/4-20 screws with washers and lock washers sealing it with Life caulk.

I agree with what others have said. You also need to have the boat be in the water with the dinghy against the swim step where you would like it. Carefully look at the dinghy and the swim step to see where you can locate the mounts on the swim step and the dinghy. They have to avoid the stainless steel uprights (if you have them) and the large dinghy mounting pads need smooth areas on the dinghy.
