We called our insurance agent who does our home and cars etc and they say they don't do insurance for something like the Ranger Tug. They recommended checking with Boat US who I believe uses GEICO?

Anyone have any recs on this subject? Thank you.

(We are in the Market for the 2021 R29 CB)

I’d suggest making contact with Global Marine Insurance. They offer only marine insurance from many carriers, including Geico. They can shop several providers to get the best coverage for the type of boating you do, where you boat n or live.

I second Jim's recommendation. We have used Global Marine Insurance since 2010. First on a Sea Ray 240 Sundancer, then on a R25SC and now on our R29S.

Global Marine is good if you’re located in Florida. They carry Markel, which seems to be one of the better options for Ranger Tugs.

My R31S is located in Fort Myers Beach, FL. I got insurance through Celedinas a Marsh & McLennan Insurance Agency that can shop for various insurers for you.

They are located in Florida at:

Pro-tip for Great Lakes boaters: avoid Geico/Boat US and Progressive, they won't give you a Great Lakes-only policy so with them you wind up paying for our southern friends' hurricanes and higher accident rates (present company excluded of course). You can always add an endorsement when you do your Great Loop.

Progressive is pretty competitive also. When checking quotes also check the coverages and deductibles to make sure you are comparing apples to apples. The one issue I found with going through brokers first is if they use Geico for a quote Boat US , who uses Geico, will tend to lock you out from receiving a quote from them. Make sure who ever you use that you get consequential damage. Also, as I have mentioned before, there is coverage called agreed value. This is a bit more, but it sets the replacement cost up front and you are not arguing with them later in the event of a total loss.

Thank you all!
