Insurance in the Bahamas

Hi all. I am thinking about buying a Ranger Tug. I live on the East Coast of FL and am wondering if any of you have been able to purchase boat insurance for a cruise to the Bahamas with a single engine Ranger?

Some insurance companies cover you for "a region," and you need to call them if you are going to be out of that region; there may be an additional cost. When we had our C-Dory (and previous boats), we insured with State Farm - they covered the US, Canada, and the Bahamas, and up to 75 miles offshore. There are quite a few Ranger Tug owners who use a yacht insurance broker (name escapes me right now), but you should confirm where you intend to boat with any company you're considering.
