I am considering changing our Promariner 2500 QS with the Promariner 2000 PS. Any advice out there? We are replacing batteries too.

Issues with the inverter as far as needing pure sine wave? Why go with less wattage if you don't have to? If I were changing the unit I might consider a separate charger and inverter. The one thing I do not like about the promariner is the possibility of the automatic transfer switch malfunctioning. Or if the unit goes you also lose your charger. I have heard that Xantrex units are pretty dependable, but have no first hand knowledge.

We purchased our Cutwater without an inverter because I didn't like the modified sine wave inverter. We have a Promariner charger and so far so good! I agree with Mike a malfunction of one system takes both out with a combination unit. I installed a Kisae SWXFR1220 2000W with transfer switch. It is a 2000 W continuous with a 4000w peak (surge). It is a pure sine wave. I also do not like the transfer switch feature and did not wire the inverter utilizing this feature. Kisae makes SWXFR 1230 3000W also. I can't say its better then any other unit on the market, it had good reviews, reasonably priced and good customer service for technical information. For us 2 years in service flawless operation.
To conserve space I installed the inverter on top of the waste tank. Drier area and better ventilation for cooler operation most of the ventilation comes in from the transom area of the boat.

I’m on my 3ed Promariner 2500. All three transfer switches failed within 2months of install.
Terrible design.
They do not pass a/c power without dc to run the circuits inside.
I put in a 3-way lockout breaker from blue sky to run either the inverter, generator or shore power. Works fine, I still have ProM #3 and the inverter easily powers my small rooftop air conditioner.
