Went to use the inverter the other day and the voltage AC was only reading around 75 volts. Any undead on where to start looking. Manual only talks about no voltage not any guidance on low voltage.

Thanks

Scott

It will read low until there is a load. Try running something on AC and see if the voltage goes up.

Hello Scott

If your inverter is the modified sine wave type, it will read at a low voltage by some voltmeters. I'm not saying it isn't broken just that it may be ok.

Will it run the microwave?

I had plugged a fan. In and noticed it was not running as fast. Checked to ac volt meter at the breaker panel and that is what showed me the voltage was low. I concerned with trying microwave on a lower the normal voltage as this could cause a higher current draw.

Thanks

Unless you have a true RMS meter, expensive, inverter MSW will read quite low. Low will not hurt microwave. Try a 100w light build and compare with shore power.
