I have a 2014 Cutwater 28 that has a KVH M1 dome, but no interface box. It plugs into what looks like is a powered splitter, which connects to the TV. When I do a channel scan, I get no channels detected. Is this usable without a satellite receiver?

First thing I'd do is take the cover off the dome and make sure you have a sat dish. Some people put different antennas inside the dome. If you have one then you will need a dish box as well as a sat receiver either Direct TV or Dish Network. I've noticed most of the dish people tend toward Direct TV
Good Luck

It is my understanding that the dome is all show and there is only a standard VHF antenna inside. If that is the case you do need to do a channel search on the tv at each new location. If there is no antenna or it is not connected then doing a scan will get you nothing.
