I've never been able to tighten the cockpit table on my 2014 C-28. From the looks of the 3 "fingers" on the bottom of the pole, there should be detents that they click into but the base on the engine hatch is smooth. I can't tighten the ring enough to get the wobble out of the table.

Hello,

Once the leg is in the mount you then would spin the black ring down by turning it counterclockwise. If the black collar on the table leg doesnt move or feels seized you would need a new leg, some have gotten them loose but usually you end up needing a new one. Hope this helps.

Thank you,

On my R27/OB with the single pole for the table I simply swapped the pole and the attached base to the engine hatch with the Garelick EEz-In Table Pedestal.... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...EB0QRHSYQ1Z0CJEG&pd_rd_w=JIOnE&pd_rd_wg=nCiNl

This was a good investment and the table no longer wobbled.

Some of the RT model provide two poles for the cockpit table and that does improve table stability but even with two poles it can still be a bit wobbly. This may have been resolved in newer years models and when I get my new R29 S next March I'm hopeful this is so. The table really is quite useless if it wobbles.

Replaced it with the Garelick EEz-In Table Pedestal that Barry recommended. Solid as a rock. All 5 of the 1/4" stainless bolts on the old one were bent. The new mount has two quick release latches that can be adjusted without tools. Great product!

I use a table from rei that rolls up and the legs fold into a small space. Very lightweight
Will put a pic in my album

I have a 2013 CW 28. I have always struggled with the cockpit table. I could never get it indexed properly. The Garelick modification posted earlier looks like a great idea. In looking around for that table leg, I noticed that Sequoia (which is the one Fluid Motion supplied with our boats) had some other options.

They used a similar setup in the VW camper van. However they used a different end on the table side of the leg and different mount on the table itself.

A new leg and new table mount was about $60. Here's a picture:

Went together very easily, locked in place very tightly. Can still store it up forward in the stateroom. The table mount is aluminum and stainless steel.

I was even able to re-use the old screws for the new table mount. 😀
