I need to replace mine and cannot find the Cartridge anywhere online.
Is there a substitute cartridge that can just drop in made under a different brand? Or do I have to replace the whole unit?
And if I have to replace the whole unit, is it fairly straightforward or do I have to start removing whole shower components to get to the hot/cold water hookups?

Thank you in advance for your advice.

So, removed the discontinued cartridge. It did not look broken. It is a simple mechanical gizmo.
Soaked it in vinegar and re-installed this AM.

Hot water worked for about 20 seconds… then not…

Tried it later and again, turned hot, then not.. plenty of pressure.

Before I re-installed the cartridge, I checked the flow for both hot and cold… flow out of both “pipes” in the brass unit was fine. The two hot water faucets in the boat work perfectly.

Getting the boat ready for a CT to Norfolk VA trip this Fall, would appreciate any ideas.

Thank you for supporting the brand.

I seem to be my own Factory Answer Team ; ). Sorry for all the questions guys, new to the brand and I’m trying to bring this 11 yo RR 31 back to new condition…

To finish this thread for the Knowledge base for future shower replacement… I Replaced the original mixing valve with one purchased from Defender.

In the 31, access to the mixing valve is via the cave… I first removed the two access panels and then discovered I can remove the whole back cave wall, so I did. Far easier access. Kudos to the designers.

Part from Defender, I paid $109.00

Scandvik Single-Lever Shower Mixer with Compact Trim Ring - #10479

There is a 3/4” piece of plywood glued + glassed over - to the back of the shower wall, so plenty of meat for fastening screws. I used 2 scrap pieces of aluminum strapping to hold the mixing valve in place. I re-used the old mixing valve face plate to cover the 3” hole. Replaced the 1/2” water hose where needed… no leaks.
The new mixing valve is a 1/2”-er as well, so no need to transition to smaller diameter hose.

I purchased (3) 90 degrees nylon 1/2” barbed elbows + 3’ of 1/2” hose + (6) stainless hose clamps.

Taking the boat out tomorrow, will check to see if the hot water works.

One benefit, the water pressure is significantly better than the old mixer.
