After what seemed to be an eternity, our 2005 R-21 was delivered this morning! We are so happy and can't wait to get it into the water now. We had the broker deliver it from New Jersey, taking the advice of some on here to not risk towing it that distance in our 6-cyl 2007 Suzuki with a towing limit of 3,000#. But there it sits on the trailer in front of the house with the the water in the background. Pretty picture but I'm thinking the "Chalupa" would "work" better if it was in said water! We just might risk putting it in at the boat ramp 2 miles from the house. Guess we better get an different vehicle to tow it.

Comments from other's upon seeing it so far: "Oh, it's so cute!" Awwww guys, it's a cutie!" "She's such a cute little thing." Funny, no one ever said that about my new Harleys! 😀

Congratulations, and have a great splash! Trust me, you're going to hear "cute" on a regular basis. Our R25 is a constantly eliciting that adjective - and it's alright by us!

Cheers

Congratulations! You'll never get tired of having the cutest baby in the nursery. I'm sure you will enjoy Miss Irene as much as we do Slow 'n Easy. Happy cruising!

Congratulations on the new arrival. You are in for a lot of good times and enjoyment of your surroundings. "Cute" just seems to go with the tugs. Before I bought mine Ranger said if people telling you that your boat is cute will bother you then you better not buy it. With a 2006 I have encountered many of the things that you will and they are slightly different from the EC. Feel free to ask the questions here or PM me if I can be of assistance.

The Ranger 21 is cute squared. Cute overdose, and I can prove it.

Every year, we would bring a Com-Pac Sun Cat to the Fort Myers boat show, and I would stand in the street as an endless parade of people came by and proclaimed it cute. At least one per 5 minutes, all day, for four days.

This year, we made the BIG mistake of putting the Sun Cat next to a Ranger 21EC. During the entire show, two people told me it was cute. Two. That should be ten minute's worth of people, not 4 days! Everyone commented on how cute the tug was, and the poor little Sun Cat might as well have been invisible.

Those two are getting separated at future shows.

Thank you all....Hey, we will take "cute!" We can't wait to splash her, hopefully tomorrow. Good thing the fellow delivering it pointed out the "plug!" I know we would have put her in the water and got wet!

Don't know what we are going to do about the name though. I promised Irene that I would name one of our boats after her but this one has "Chalupa" for a name. When we saw it, we asked each other, "Who would name their boat after a Taco Bell meal?" Turns out that the previous owner is from Spain and chalupa is a type of boat or ship. So we may keep the name and get one of those stuffed dogs whose head nods up and down and superglue it to the transome! Then Irene, who is full-blooded Mexican, can put the little dingle-berries around the windows and I'll hang a pair of dice from the horn lanyard and put a crown airfreshner on the dashboard. Oh yeah, we ARE going to have fun with this boat!

Be sure and establish an album right away and share some pictures with us. (Sounds as though some could be a "hoot").

Duke and Irene,
Congratulations on the purchase of your new boat! We have had Solitude for a year and a half now and love spending every minute we can on her.

Do not plan to make a quick get away from any dock, gas station, store, etc as people will approach you and want to know about your tug. This is the funnest part of this boat. We have met a number of people just because they wanted to know about our tug.

We actually had a Nevada Highway Patrolman flip a u turn and flag me over to look at the boat! He litterly "flagged" us over with his arm as he explained to have used his red and blues would have been illegal! He had seen me tow Solitude through Hawthorn twice in the past month and on the third time could not resist.

Again, congratulations!
