Our companion Jake passed away yesterday. All the hours we put on our 21, 27 and now our 31 have been shared with him. I know many of you have petted him as our wakes have crossed.

Dr. Jake C. Harleton, MD (Jake) or the Doctor as some of our friends call him was a 10 year old Golden Retriever. Willie and I will miss him.

We also had a golden named Jake years ago, still think of him often. And the origin of my screen name. Fond memories, I'm sure Jake felt the same.

This is so sad to read.... I feel your pain.

We let our Wire Hair Fox Terrier named Teddy go peacefully after 13 yrs and 4 months back in 2011. We wanted him back so badly.... He's still missed terribly. To keep Teddy's sister with a companion we found another male WFT and named him Jake.

It will take time to get over this loss.

Take care.

Yvonne and I join in sending sympathies. Fergus joins us as well. Jake was the best dock dog ever. He was a member of the family. How sad that our best friends have such a short life span.

Hi Herb and Willie:

I'm thankful that we had the opportunity to meet Jake and get a welcoming tail wag at last year's Desolation Sound trip.

I only wish our dogs were as well behaved and glad to be on the boat as he was.

We'll give them extra hugs and treats tonight.

A few years ago when my best friend crossed the Rainbow Bridge, I mourned for a month, after which we couldn't stand it and let a new Aussie into our hearts.

There's another Dog out there with y'alls name on it I'm sure.

Best wishes,

Bill

Sorry to hear that you lost your furry companion. It is so hard when they pass. There's no easy way around it. Hopefully as time passes thoughts of them bring on smiles rather than tears.

Herb and Willie,
Robyn and I are very sorry for your loss.

We are so sorry and will miss seeing him with you. He was a terrific companion and fit right in with the Tugnuts crowd. Our condolences.

Herb & Willie:

So sorry to hear about Jake, he was a class fellow like his owners. Always friendly toward his fellow dogs including ours. It was a pleasure to know him.

Herb and Willie:

It seems like yesterday when we met Jake on the dock in Bremerton, the unofficial greeter at the Rendezvous that year. It was our initial introduction into the Ranger Tug community and Jake played an important part, we will miss his presence.

Hi Herb And Willie;
So sorry to hear about Jake. He truly was a big love. It's so special that you were able to share your boating experiences with him.

Herb and Willie,

We were saddened by the news about Jake. We first met him in 2009 when you guys came to Bothell and joined us for a trip to Bremerton for the Ranger Tug rendezvous. That's when Jake and out kitty Babe first met and created a lasting relationship. They spent many times together. We always looked forward to meeting again for a chance to see Jake and fortunately it happened quite often. I am sure that Jake and Babe are in heaven together looking down upon us and waiting for a loving pet on the head.

So sad to hear that Jake is no longer with you. He was a wonderful, well mannered friend and we are sorry for your loss.

Jake was the man, and the mayor of the many docks we shared.

Hi Willie & Herb,

Our condolences on Jake's passing. Peggy and I are remembering how right at home he felt when all of you came to our house in Fanny Bay. He was always so at ease with everyone. He was a faithful friend and fellow mariner. We know you'll miss him terribly as will everyone else who got to know him.

It is sometimes difficult to explain what a pet means to us. In Jake's memory I will hug my Cleo and say, " Thanks for being my friend."
