Johnson Bilge Pump

I just got a 2017 Ranger Tug 29S. It has the Johnson bilge pumps with the digital sensors. Should they go off every 2.5 mins or is that the newer pumps only? Manual switch works and if I dump water in bulge they work.

I don’t believe the Johnson pumps cycle, that’s the newer Rule pumps. Mine behave as you’re describing on my 2016 C30 CB.

anytime! I'd advise you keep a spare cartridge and switch for the pump(s) onboard at all times, and if you haven't give the sensor a good wipe down. they can fail as they age, and mine are going on several years. I test them both as part of my start-up checklist...

Tell me about it. I'm 6'4 with a 36" sleeve, and I struggle to get at the aft one. Forget the forward one, it's impossible...
