This is our 2nd season for The Pugs Tug, our R27. Last year we just puttered around our home waters of the Great South Bay, Long Island. This year we ventured out and went thru the Shinnecock Canal and into the Peconic Bay. I always had sailboats and could not go thru the canal because of low bridges. We traveled a total of 120 miles and The Pugs Tug preformed flawlessly. I burned less than 60 gallons of fuel and went 120 miles. Not too bad. I usually traveled at 12 - 14 knots, until I hit those 5 mph spots. I believe 2 NMPG is pretty good.

Just a few complaints. That little thumb post that sticks out of the latch on that transom door fell off again. I fixed it 2 times already. Now I have to put a st. st. roll pin in it and fix it again. Also who came up with the placement of the pump out fitting? The rail on the transom is directly over the cap. Some of the pump out nozzles do not fit under that rail. It should be somewhere else, or place it on a 30 degree angle or something. I've seen the threads on that 90 degree elbow. At this price point, we shouldn't be hassled with the little crap like that. I even go back to those LONG threads on windows sticking. Has anyone ever seen an Island Packet sail boat? They are over engineered and very sturdy. Every piece of hardware, every port, every hinge, etc. is top shelf. You pay for it, but it's a great boat. I paid well into the 6 digits for my boat. For me, that's a big chunk of change. What's up Ranger factory? I would bet an extra 2500 or 3500 would be absorbed into the price. If someone is paying $200K, they would pay $205K. Just my opinion.

Don't get me wrong, I love the boat. It just twists me a little to see short cuts and low end hardware to save money. I will live with it, because that's the way it is.

Also those "useless" windshield wipers.

Thank you for the advice. I think we all have our little things we wish were better and some of those changes are made as we progress because of comments and feedback we receive from owners such as yourself.

Thanks again for the feedback.

We also just came back from a trip, and also this is our second season with our SC25 Ranger. We did over a total of 750 nmiles on our trip first to Gorge Harbor with the Ranger sponsored Desolation Sound Group and then on to some very remote locations. We travelled with two 30ft Cutwaters for the portion following Gorge and we all had minor problems, fortunately usually being found to be operator error. The two Cutwaters consisted of one from local waters and one from Florida who took delivery in Everett Washington. Thanks to Rangers Points North Seminar we (Lola B) had our navigation and stern ties covered ( Thank You Capt. Mack). The trip was more than we could have hoped for and on top of that we made some great new friends. We are already making plans for trips together. As the add says you have joined a family and the family will help solve any issues encountered. Nothing in life is perfect, but this is close.

YOLO is on Day 9 of our Cape Cod and the Islands cruise. A little rainy here in Falmouth, but it is passing. We have been pumped out 3 times with no problems. We took the advice of Brian B and fabricated a fitting.

Also, a little tweaking of the wipers and a liberal application of Rain-X has proved effective.
