Karma has departed Eagle Harbor under brilliant sunshine bound for Everett. We will overnight in Everett and then pull Karma out of the water in the morning. She is headed for the factory for three weeks of upgrades.

We will splash her on August 20th in Anacortes where we will spend a week before we depart for an 11 day cruise in the Gulf Islands.

Those of you on the Desolation Cruise, we wish you fair winds and following seas.

After a beautiful cruise to Everett, we pulled into the guest docks to be greeted by Tim aboard his R-29, Two Knights. While we were talking we looked up to see Zuma come into the marine! Once again, it is an imprompt too gathering of tugs! After sharing a couple of bottles of wine aboard Karma, we enjoyed dinner together at Anthony's with great old friends and a new friend!

It's truly not a boat but, a lifestyle!

I have always considered Karma and Zuma as being the "ambassador" boats for Ranger Tugs. Months before I got my boat I would spend hours viewing their posts/pictures at Tugnuts and Karma's "website" and dream of the day I would launch my own R-29. Thus, I was quite surprised and elated when these two "famous" R-29s docked next to me in Everett. Thank you so much David, Maureen, Lyman and Janeane for sharing your evening with me. Listening to your adventures has given me even more impetus to "create the time" and explore the beauty of Puget Sound. I look forward to seeing you all again at the rendezvous.

Warm Regards,

Tim and Judy Sorensen
R-29 Two Knight

Tim,
Glad to hear you are coming to the rendezvous! Be sure you go to the rendezvous thread and post your information.

As excited as you were with seeing Karma and Zuma come in, we too were excited to see you and Two Knights tied at the guest moorage! We always enjoy meeting fellow Tug Nutters!

If you would like to check out Eagle Harbor at no charge, our slip will be empty for six weeks. Let me know and I will give you further information. That invitation goes out to anyone in Puget Sound or beyond!

The Laurie Ann also saw Two Knight at the Everett guest dock tonight. We were coming back from Hat Island and decided that good looking merlot colored R-29 must be yours. So sorry we missed all of you - Karma, Zuma, Two Knight. We were enjoying the island and not following Tugnuts, so we didn't realize all these Rangers were in our neighborhood!

Karma has been at the factory now for just over a week. Jim has already gotten the new Fusion stereo and remote installed as well as the new additional 20 gallon water tank, chart storage under the helm seat, and new double height box under the helm seat. He was working on the teak spice box which will go right behind the helm seat this afternoon when I left the factory. Once he completes that, he will work on the last but most important item, the wine cellar in the basement.

I have posted pictures on our web site of the new chart storage and Fusion Stereo. Jim has pictures of the water tank installation that he will send to me. Once he does, I will post those also.

If you have your Tug in the PNW, jim does great work at a VERY reasonable price of $25.00 per hour! I would strongly reccommend Jim.

I'd say $25/hr is reasonable. Picked up the wife's Audi AllRoad this AM; they charge $110/hr.  That's for flat rate hours, who knows how much actual time was spent. 🙁 And, of course, they have this shop materials charge for another $60.

Stopped at our local Yamaha shop on the way home to see how things were going. They charge $86/hr. 😱 Even though they said they'd look at my engine that day, it will be a week tomorrow and they haven't even looked at it yet! And, I was told they're not sure when they can get to it.

I should have stayed with diesels!!!!
