Karma will depart Eagle Harbor on Friday morning July 22nd bound for Des Moines (if they have space.... wooden boat show that weekend). If we are able to get in, we will overnight at Des Moines and then head to Gig late Saturday morning. We have reservations at Arabelle's in Gig Harbor for Saturday night. Anyone wishing to join us is welcome!

Yeah, that wooden boat show is part of a combined classic boat and car show that is taking place at the Des Moines Marina. All is part of the festivities related to the Des Moines Waterland Festival on July 22nd and 23rd. There is also a parade the evening of the 23rd, sure to draw tons of people. Just FYI. May want to get there by the 21st to insure a slip in the guest moorage area.

Once again the "Good Karma" come's through. I departed Eagle Harbor at 5:30 this morning bound for Des Moines not sure if I would even be able to get a slip as this weekend is the classic boat show.

I arrived at Des Moines at 7:30 being greeted by the fuel dock attendant. I inquired as to what they had available for over night guest moorage. His response was "were full"...... but, let me make a quick call just to be sure. He placed his call and then hung up. Your in luck he said, we have one slip left right here on the main dock with the "rest" of the classics....... So, here we are, tied up nice and tight right along with the great boats of yesteryear.

We will spend tonight here in Des Moines, visit the farmers market as well as the other "festivities" tomorrow and then it will be off to Gig Harbor where Gary and Rosalee will join us on board for dinner.

Please give our love and best wishes to Gary and Rosalee when you see them!!!

Boy, what a day! As I was attempting to do some cleaning on Karma today, I had to continually stop and answer questions of all kinds concerning Karma. What kind (brand) is it? Where is it built? How much did it cost (that one always gets me)? How long does it take to get from Colorado to Seattle (Our new hailing port is Castle Pines Colorado)?

And then there were the ones that kept telling me I was a shoe in for best of show in the classic boat show..... I had to explain that Karma was not a classic, just designed to look that way. I did appreciate the compliment though!

All in all though it was a great day. Beautiful weather and great people.

Bill and Patty of Sunshine came down and met me at the dock. They have their Lake Union Dream Boat here for the show. Now that is a classic! The evening was spent on the docks talking to all of the great people with their classics. If you are in the area of Des Moines tomorrow, I would recommend stopping by and checking out the classic boats as well as the classic cars. It is looking like it is going to shape up to be a great success for the city of Des Moines.

Hi David and Maureen, Hope to see you in Gig Harbor, we are at Pleasure Craft next to the public dock, same marina as Gary and Rosalee

Another great weekend has come to an end. The weather was incredible, the company was the best. We saw Bill and Patty of Sunshine, Cal stopped by to say hello, and then dinner on Saturday night with Gary and Rosalee aboard Karma. The best part of dinner were the crab cocktails that Gary and Rosalee brought along. The crab was caught by them on their recent trip to Alaska (on a friends Krogen).

After dinner, we sat in the cockpit enjoying the company while eating delicious Rainer Cherries washing them down with a nice Chardonnay.

The cruise back to Eagle Harbor this morning was beautiful in the bright sunshine and light breeze.

Next week we head to Everett where we will pull Karma out and take over to the factory for her new additions. She will be on the hard for three weeks then we will splash her once again in Anacortes. She will remain in Anacortes for a week and then it is off to the Gulf islands (departing on Friday August 26th) for 11 days of cruising.
