Karma will be departing Eagle Harbor on the morning of July 16th bound for Blake Island. We will overnight at Blake before returning to Eagle Harbor early Sunday afternoon.

Anyone wishing to join us is welcome. We hope to be able to get on the dock, if that is not possible, we will opt for hanging on the "poles" inside the marina.

Karma will be departing Eagle Harbor at 9:00 tomorrow morning bound for Blake Island. Anyone wishing to join us is welcome. If Blake is full, we will be hanging on the hook in Blakely Harbor.

We departed Eagle Harbor at 8:00 am arriving at Blake at 9:00. Upon our arrival there were no slips available to our liking so we chose to hang between the poles. Within an hour, one of the prime slips opened up. We moved into our new location with a great view of the entire maina.

Even before we had Karma secured, the parade of looky loo's began. One lady even told us we were the talk of the marina.... Couldn't believe we were wiping her down in the light rainfall.... What better time to shine her up? Nice fresh spot free water.....

I no sooner got her wiped down and the sun came out. We have had a wonderful afternoon talking to fellow boaters and just enjoying the great weather.

Next week, Des Moines on Friday, Gig on Saturday!

We are once again settled into our slip at Winslow Wharf in Eagle Harbor after a wonderful weekend at Blake Island. The weather on Saturday turned out beautiful. Brilliant blue sky's with big billowing clouds through out the afternoon. The deer wandered about the lawns while the eagles soared overhead and a lone raccoon roamed the sandy beach. It is hard to imagine all this when, we can see downtown Seattle from where we sit.....

Early evening brought a few rain showers but not enough to chase us inside. We simply sat on our "back porch" enjoying a nice bottle of wine accompanied by some incredible Rainier Cherries.

Sunday morning broke with cloudy sky's and light showers. Still not enough to ruin an otherwise perfect weekend. Since neither of us flies until noon Monday, we were able to stay and enjoy Blake until mid afternoon. We simply relaxed and watched the turnover in the marina. A boat would leave, a boat would come in. In between we studied the cruising guides for the Gulf Islands in anticipation of our upcoming cruise. It is hard to believe it is only five weeks before we leave!

It is hard to imagine that it is the end of July. Sixty one degrees and cloudy....... seems like it should be February..... Oh well, turn on the heater, crack open another bottle of wine and call it good! Next week will find us in Des Moines on Friday evening, Saturday evening Gig Harbor. Feel free to join us if you can.

See you on the water,
David and Maureen

Did the cherry pits make it out of the cockpit?

In the beginning....... Only in the beginning......
