We’re in the planning stages of a trip from Kentucky to Pensacola via the Tenn-Tom waterway. Our plan is to tow our R-23 up to Paducah Lake and cruise down to Pensacola. When we’re finished we'd return for the truck and trailer. Any advice?

We are doing that trip right now. I’m sitting in a little creek off the Tombigbee river as I send this post. I will send you the logistics of what we are doing when completed. My wife has been posting to the blog as we are going.

Brian,
Please forward those logistics to me also. That’s a trip my wife and I hope to complete in the near future. Beautiful area. Be safe and let us know if you need any help when you arrive in Pensacola. Be aware lots of damage from hurricane Sally. Several marina’s are no longer available (marina for Ranger Tug dealer in Perdido Key destroyed) and you will be amazed by the number of wrecked boats sitting on shore. Enjoy your trip. Very jealous.

Thanks for the reply Brian. I went to your blog and it just adds to the excitement we have in making this trip. Please continue to post updates. As Larry mentioned the western panhandle of Florida, Perdido Key in Alabama we’re hit hard by Sally. The Pensacola Bay bridge is closed to vehicle traffic after a barge broke loose in the storm and knocked out a section of the bridge. We live just east of Pensacola on Escambia Bay and lost our dock. Several friends are still looking for their boats. Be safe out there. This area has some wonderful anchorages.
Cheers,
Karl

Will Do! My wife will continue to post to the blog. I will put together stats and information from my log book.

As our trip has been very good. We ran into a slight glitch. Zeta !! It has changed our progress and plans. We are sitting in Orange Beach Alabama waiting for the Hurricane/ Tropical storm to pass. Storm surge and winds starting to increase but fortunately we dodged the worst of the late season storm. Forecast are predicting strong winds and heavy rain over night for us. 2020 when will it end?
