I have a 2022 R-31 with a Kisae Inverter-Charger. Its showing a message of "r 4.0". I cannot seem to be a power it on as the power button does not beep (although the select button does). Can anyone help out by providing some info. I can see no reference to "r 4.0" in the owners manual.
Also, my mid cabin, head, and galley outlets have no power, nor does the microwave. The breaker panel is getting power, as all line 2 outlets work; and the line 1 needle comes up when switched over, also. I suspect this is somehow related to the inverter.

r4.0 refers to the software version. When you press power button what LEDs light up? From the manual:

Auto Backup Mode (Factory default setting):

The unit is fully automatic. When utility power is available, the unit is running in AC bypass mode.
AC output is supplied from the utility. The internal AC charger is ON and will automatically top up
the battery bank that is connected to the unit. When there is a power failure from the utility or an
AC source is not available, the unit will run on battery power and the unit will generate sinewave
AC output to maintain and operate the load continuously.
Non-Backup Mode
Same as Auto Backup Mode but when there is a power failure of the utility or the AC input source
is not available, the inverter will not turn ON automatically. You are required to manually turn ON

When I press the power button, there is no beep and nothing happens. I think unit is off. The status and display lights are off. But when I press the display button, there is a beep. Also, i am getting no power to the AC outlets for microwave, head, galley and mid berth.

I am not a fan of the kisae, I have one on my c-288. One of the things to be careful of is that you have to hold the buttons down for various times. Here is a example from the manual

Enter the Function Menu for unit setting

;To enter the unit Function Menu, press and hold “Power” and “Select” buttons together for

about 5 seconds until a beep is sounded.

When you are in Function Menu:

• Press ‘Power’ button for 1 second to toggle between different Functions Menu like ‘In’, ‘Sd’,

‘AL’, and ‘Fd’ etc.

• Press ‘Select’ button for 1 second to enter Individual Function Set Menu and you can make

changes to the settings.

• The unit will EXIT the Main Menu automatically if ‘Power’ and ‘Select’ buttons are not

triggered for more than 5 seconds.

When you are in Individual Function Set Menu:

• Press ‘Select’ button for 1 second to toggle between different setting values.

• Press ‘Select’ button for 5 seconds to set selected setting and exit to next Main Menu

See more details on flow chart in Appendix I.

Kisae upgraded the inverter/charger around 2021 but for some crazy reason never updated the owners manual. If you go to their website, you will still find the original version owners manual.
However, there is an extensive update that shows all the new software features, but I cannot seem to attach the PDF I received from Kisae with the new info.
I recommend you email the Kisae tech rep: ricardo.kisae@gmail.com
Ricardo was very helpful to me. Ask him to send you this document: KISAE Inverter & Charger IC122055, Details of the new software versions (“r4.0” and “u4.1” or “u4.2”) in units with S/N equal or higher than KT1909......)

Ricardo called back and was very helpful. R-4.0 indicates the software version, but its supposed to go off within about 2-3 seconds. If not, the unit usually needs replacing. Mine needs replacing. No repair services are offered.
So, I have ordered a new one per Ricardo's very complete directions.
I am hoping the power problems I mentioned above will then go away.

I had the same problem, and replaced my inverter. I found out, the hard way, that not all Kisae inverters are chargers. Found a good price and good people to deal with at a small Oregon town. DonRowe.com.

I replaced the original inverter with a new one. Ricardo was excellent to work with and sent instructions mentioned above. No problems now. Turns out that the power runs through the inverter for the outlets I mentioned, as well as the microwave. So that is why just these were not operating.
My inverter is also a charger, by the way.
Thanks to everyone. Now if this heat subsides, we will be out and about.
