I want to share our outstanding experience when recently purchasing our Ranger Tug CB31 from ModernTugs/Edgewater Yacht Sales.
Emile Petro and his team exemplify what a boat purchasing experience should be like. Emile was quick to respond and he provided above and beyond support throughout the entire process. Early on in our purchase, sensing that I was tense about the investment and the process, Emile said, “Buying a boat should be a fun and exciting experience.” He then went on to be thorough in explaining all factors of the process and assuring that we’d be well taken care of. And we were!
Once we secured our contract, Emile continued to be thorough and linked us with the rest of his “team.” We had the great pleasure of working with Carl, who seems to be the company’s top pre-purchase personal concierge. Carl reviewed every inch of the boat with us, and made us feel like we were his only client. I know this wasn’t true, because there is a buzz about their organization of potential sales, maintenance and customer service. A quick walk around the docks and you will run into people who have purchased boats from this group and can’t say enough good things about them. Even on pre-owned boats, this organization will give you the complimentary 2-3 day orientation, both in the slip and out on the water. They did this in addition to a two and a half out sea trial. Oh, they will also let you keep your boat with them up to 3 months free, following the purchase.
Emile provided our comprehensive orientation himself. His wife, Jill Petro, handled all of financial details. They also helped with post purchase details such as how we would get our new boat back to our home port of Baltimore, MD.,and how long could we keep it with them in Pensacola. We were even invited to a small party bon fire party on the beach. What resonates the most for me throughout this entire process, if had any concerns or details that needed to be addressed, as Emile says, “Don’t worry, we will take car of it.” And they do (and didn’t nickel and dime us at all)! A great family owned business and a model operation! If you know of anyone looking for a new or pre-owned Ranger or Cutwater, I wouldn’t hesitate to send them here, regardless of where in the country you live.
