"Sunshine" will be heading for Lake Rosevelt April 5th to the 7th. Going to get a taste of that big lake before the summer crowds.Short notice, but anyone interested?

Sounds like fun! We have the granddaughters this weekend or we would join you.
Have never boated there however look forward to it this year. Where will you launch and do you have a destination?
Would like to hear the details of your cruise.

Marcus

Sunshine:

Is this Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area at Coulee Dam? If so it sure looks very scenic from what I saw online and an interesting place to explore. Please let us know the do's, don't's, what, when and where's of your adventure. Have a grand time.

Jim

I am sure most Tugnuts have seen Bill and El Fiero's descriptions of their 25,000 mile cruise/drive in their C-Dory. Charles Kollerer a former Ranger owner turned me on to it. If you have not seen it, bookmark their website. It is a great resource. Here is their description of Lake Roosevelt:

And of course, as a fellow geologist, I like Bill's mingling of natural history and useful boating observations.

Lake Roosevelt exploring was worth the trip. We are planning another trip when the weather warms up. We launched the boat at Spring Creek Rec. Park about a mile or so above the Dam ( Grand Coulee ). We traveled about 45 miles up river to Two rivers and spent the night at the large Marina operated by the Spokane Nation. Hawk creek was the highlite of the trip. Lots and lots of sand beaches all along the way. Nearly all the waterfront is National Recreation land.
Just installed Garmin's Inland lakes on the GPS so as not to have to guess as to where the deep waters are. Next time we will start at Kettle Falls and head down stream. If you have a trailer, make this trip.

I have tentatively planned on spending my Memorial Day Weekend in that stretch of water.

So what's the fishing like...or, rather, what did you hear about fishing in that area?

Thanks,

JtheK
