Our first major cruise in the new CW 28 this summer will hopefully be a trip around Lk. Superior. Will be trailering up to the Lake from Arizona in mid to late June and probably putting in at Marquette or Houghton Michigan.

Would enjoy hearing from anyone who has done this trip with tips and possible suggestions. We plan on visiting Isle Royale during the cruise as well. Wife,(Mary) and I will be getting to know the boat better on our shake down cruise on Lake Powell in the spring ,where we have spent many enjoyable weeks for the last 30 years or so on previous boats. Need to get my arms around the New boats systems before tackling the Big Lake!

We are in the process of doing some customizing on the boat to make it more like home!

Thanks for your feedback.

Trip sounds great, but for your first time why not do the north channel of Georgian bay. May cruisers start from Lake Michigan ports and spend the summer in protected waters of the north channel. Many more anchorages to explore. You are only ever a few hours from a marina in case you need something and there are hundreds of places to explore. Weather is a lot less worrisome in the north channel over the big lake where weather windows are a concern and protected anchorages are further away. Might make a better introductory location! But whatever you choose you should enjoy it!
