I have a slow leak (getting slightly faster) around the sonar transducer.
Is there any way to tempoarily seal it while in the water I presume I have to haul out and re-seal it. Any advise on how ro do it, or what not to do.
Thanks

The transducer is glued to the hull but does not go through it. You can repair it while the boat is in the water. Remove the transducer, then sand the area thoroughly with 220-grit sandpaper. Wipe and clean the area before using Sikaflex 291 to reattach it to the hull. Allow it to dry for 24 hours before filling it with RV antifreeze.

Hi Jared, thanks for the reply.
Sorry, but I discovered after hours of work that my message was incorrect.
The correct information and photos are posted under technical discussions and titled "Mysterious Leak".
The "sender" I am looking at is located on the starboard hull just forward of the water heater. After drying the sealant, it doesn't appear to be the source of the leak.
Can you tell me what that "sender" is? It is not the transducer you describe above. Also, where is the transducer you described located on my boat? Do I have access to it?
I have looked at every fitting that is accessible to try to find the leak. I can't tell if it is fresh or salt, because my boat is in an estuary (the Sacramento Delta) which is mostly fresh in the winter. I have ordered a salt detector and will move to slatier water which should help me differentiate. However, I still have the leak with empty water tanks and no pressure from the water pump. so I assume it is coming from outside, but where? Could it be the coolant water to the A/C.? I closed the seacock to the A/C strainer but still have the leak.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I looked at your other post, and the photo shows the transducer I was referring to. A sender is the component inside the freshwater or fuel tank that measures the liquid level. You might have a leak higher up on your rub rail or windows that is running down. Try spraying the side of the boat to see if you can locate the source.
