Leaky stuffing box on C30

How often should the stuffing box seal require adjustment? We have about 30 hours on our boat and found water spraying all over the engine room. The raw water pump connector got corroded and we had to replace the bilge pump.

Brand new poat delivered last May, was adjusted when we did delivery check out. Am guessing it needs time to wear in.

There really is no given time intervals. When a boat is new it is important to check every connection regularly. It may be good when it leaves the factory, but after a few cycles of heat & cool and vibration, all clamps and other connections should be checked. It isn't unusual to have to tighten the packing nut a bit on the stuffing box. Very small increments are all that is required.
