Hey folks,

Been dreaming of being a tug owner for years now. Visited the tug factory about 5 years ago. We are getting closer to our dream. Building a boat barn to hold the future tug along with our ski boat. I thought I was set on a 40-ft length for the tug stall but now I’m questioning that as I’m seeing some mixed numbers on this site (and don’t completely trust the factory numbers).

So can you provide me some actual lengths on your trailer for both the diesel and outboard model R-27’s?

I’m a huge fan of the OB but not sure we will have the wallet for it. Want to set up my shop to handle either.

Thank you in advance!!

Ken

The shop for my 27OB is 30'x44'; with boat on trailer, motor down, I have about 4' of clearance. A 27OB should fit in a 40' barn, but it will be very close. I would make the building a minimum of 42' for a 27OB. My garage door is 12' tall and the boat just fits under, there might be 6" of clearance between door and top of boat. I made my shop 44' long to allow for room to walk around the boat.
I believe a 27 diesel should fit easier in a 40' building than the 27OB.

My barn is 30x40...
My 2019 27OB just fits... I can squeeze by the lowered OB and hop over the trailer tongue.....

Thank you very much for the inputs. Think I will opt to stretch it out another couple feet to give me some wiggle room. Much appreciated!!
