I only got to join for half of the webinar, but, plan to watch the archive later even though I am not a candidate. It's starts with positioning as an alternative to having a generator and, sadly, I have one on my 2019 Cutwater. I have already spent beaucoup bucks on it and almost never use it since I'm always docked. If only there was an alternative: upgraded solar panels and all Li, I'd buy that in a heartbeat. It's just like the solar panels and Tesla batteries that I'm planning to install on my house when we get a new roof.

One thing I didn't ask is, in the unlikely event of getting swamped, how will the battery system react to being submerged? I'm thinking as well as AGM, which is not good.

I don't think it's a matter of using it instead of the generator but of minimizing the generator/dock/external generator usage.

You can absolutely do a ton of solar, but on the cutwaters it makes it look weird. I've done the math and you can do 1200 watts on an r25 with not much issue or change to appearance and lines. But the issue there is storing that power. The benefit of lithium is that you can store so much more power in the same space as a normal battery.

But also, you may just not need that much power. I have plans of not touching a dock for longer periods of time thus needing adequate power generation during the good days, and storage for the nights and bad days

Yeah, my interest, at least for future, is the solar/LIFePOx solution over a generator, to save money, quietness, no smelly gas, no frequent breakdowns, etc. Here in the SF Bay Area, there is pretty much nowhere that I'll be on the hook. I used to venture up into the Sacramento/San Joaquin Delta in my younger days, but, I don't find the area very pleasant. Mostly my runs are north to SF Bay (Sausalito, San Mateo, SF), Bodega Bay, rarely, or south to Santa Cruz and Monterey that have very nice harbors.
