The saga continues! Since early July of 2012 Ladybug, Too has been dead in the water from a lightning strike on the shore power system. To date the Garmin 5215 has been to Kansas and is back and running, the VHF, stereo, DVD player, thruster joy stick, ECU computer, engine interface module, i5601E Display, both fuel tank senders, air conditioning control boards and displays, Bi-color LED Fishing lights, start battery, the analog 3 bank volt meter, the Mase Generator controller, starter and relay board and numerous connectors and splices have all been replaced. We are left with two remaining items: the display does not recognize the Fuel Tank 2 sender and there is an engine "knock" at low idle and the engine is torque limited by the ECU for safety. Short of replacing the entire wiring harness, the Yanmar repair folks have been unable to identify the source of the "knock" which seems to be random as though there were a loose connection somewhere. Continuity and ground checks are static tests and they have rattled every wire in the harness trying to find it. Anyone out there ever experience something like this? The Pcodes suggest fuel pressure and volume control and the devices have been replaced along with a host of other items. What a joy! The tab is over $12.5K and counting. Suggestions?
