Several weeks ago, we cruised from Apalachicola to port St. Joe with Friends. The mission was to RELAX and boy did we. Wildlife was fantastic and even had a Osprey PARENT, who was feeding young baby in nest atop ATN get rather upset as we ventured a little too close for his comfort and we were in awe as he let us know we had crossed into his "family" space. So, we eased on down the ICW.
Upon approaching the lovely "Port St. Joe" marina, we requested transient spaceo as our relaxation included lunch at their "Dockside Cafe". A favorite of ours as they like the First Mate - Paddy the Maltese - almost as much as we do ,but I digress. I was directed to the North dock for my short stay. As I slowly cruised the long facing dock I could only find what appeared to be a space of about 20 feet between the TWO BIG sailboats, it really was longer but when the two sail captains both appeared on the dock right in the middle of the space where I intended to dock the space continued to shrink.
AND THEN
One of PSJ's great young docklands appeared and in a great greeting said NO Problem.
So. I aligned Little Tug and Engaged my secret WEAPONS - the GIZMOS created by the Merciful Gods of the SEA - THE THRUSTERS. Timing is everything they say and it was that day. Little Tug just slid into the space and the Two Grimacing Sailors went back to their respective cockpits shaking their heads. I too would have been concerned but it was another GREAT DAY cruising on "THE CUTE LITTLE RANGER TUG
