Hi,

We're based out of Des Moines, but would like to do more cruising in the San Juans this summer. I was looking to see if there's a chance I can get a Cap Sante slip for Aug & Sept, so I wonder about LOA experiences there. They say they have a zero overhang policy, for a R25-OB should I sign up for the 28ft or the 30ft slip? LOA is listed as 28.5' with the motor down, but almost 30' with the motor up. I'd say 30ft slip, but the 30ft has a 12 person wait list while the 28ft only has a 5 person.

So for anyone at Cap Sante, ideally with an R25-OB, what size slip are you in and what's your LOA?

Thanks!

If you are a guest at Cap Sante marina… guest moorage they will allow some overhang.

If you are getting a slip, then your LoA would be measured with the motor up, unless you plan to keep it down in the water all the time.

Rt27-ob at Cap Sante must moor (permanent) in a 36’ slip even through they are 32’ with motors down.

As a guest, I’ve been moored in a 32 foot slip at Cap Sante, but that’s how the marina works. The permanent slip holders are allowed 0 overhang. For guest moorage, they (the marina) sublet permanent moorage holders slips.

Lemondrop, who’s in Alaska with us, has a permanent moorage slip there, 36’ slip.

We crab up there every year and spend 4-5 days, a different dock each day. Lol. O dock, p dock, m dock, c dock.
