Hi all, We just purchased a 2007 Ranger C25 (Yanmar 125 hp Model #4JH3TXI) and unfortunately the manuals were not on board... I am hoping someone might be able to help us out. I am assuming there are zinc anodes on the engine but don't know where they are located?? Thank you ahead of time!

I believe the earlier R25 Yanmar engines do not have zincs. The engine has closed cooling so the only vunerable components are the seawater side of the heat exchanger and the exhaust. The rest of the engine is only exposed to antifreeze. I think Yanmars logic is that the exhaust mixer and heat exchanges are made of alloy and periodically replaced. There are several zincs inother components (Genset cooler, thrusters, Prop, trim tabs). Also the water heater on these models does not seem to have a zinc.

Thank you both for the great information... one less thing to maintain!

My R-27 has 2 zincs for the engine one near the top at the heat exchanger and one below. I replace them regularly.

There are 2 engine zincs on our 2010 R25 Yanmar 4BY engine. I helped the previous owner replace them before I purchased it at the beginning of this season. They're relatively easy to access, and noted on the engine diagrams in the manual. PM me if you need pics and I'll take some of our engine over the weekend.

For those of you who are following this thread or for later information, on the Ranger 25, the Yanmar 110 and 125 did not have anodes within the engine. The Yanmar 150's do.

Thank you all for the great input. I do have the 125 HP Yanmar so will not worry about replacing anodes.
