Can someone tell me where the outlet on the fresh water tank is on an R25 - is it on the forward, aft, port or starboard side of the tank? It would help to know when I winterize the boat so that I can lower that side of the boat in order to drain the tank as much as possible with the water pump. I'll then add antifreeze and will not be too worried that there's too much fresh water left in the tank to dilute the antifreeze.

Thanks for your help!

I found that when I lowered the tongue I was able to remove more water with the water pump than when the tongue was high. I guess I'll go with that and conclude the outlet must be on the bow side.

We have an R27 so right up front recognize it may be different. Are you referring to any water that exhausts from the boat hull that comes from the fresh water tank? If so on our R27 we have three and they are all on the starboard side just above the waterline. We have 5 exhaust outlets. Starting from the stern they are, in order as follows: aft bilge, *lavatory sink, *shower sump, *galley sink and forward bilge. Hope this helps but if not let us know and someone else may chime in.

*indicates water that came from water tank

No sorry Jim, I mean the outlet of the tank itself that goes to the water pump. I figure when I'm winterizing, I'd like to get as much water out of the tank first before I add antifreeze so as to not dilute it any more than needed. Depending on where the outlet is, there may be water left in the tank if the boat is not level or conversely, if it is not level, more will get out of the tank if the outlet is 'downhill' of the tank. I'll flow the antifreeze through the system and add more so that eventually I'm confident that it hasn't been diluted too much, but I just wanted to start with the best I can.
