I am new to this email list and to the Ranger Rug 29. I teach powerboats and we have a 29 in our fleet. After going through the boat for the life of me I can't locate the head intake. I think it is in a small compartment forward of the bulkhead in the aft cabin. When I take that small over off the bulkhead I think I can see the intake hose but I can't see or reach the seacock. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Not sure what you mean by head intake. What you're describing sounds like the valve for the macerator discharge. It is difficult to reach. The USCG, at least up here where we often access open Canadian waters which allow overboard discharge, expects that valve to be closed and secured while in U.S. waters.

Cheers,

I am asking about the location of the thru hull and seacock for the sea water intake for the head not the macerator.

Not sure about R29 but the smaller rangers (I have a R25) have a smaller hose connected to the Main engine seawater strainer for raw water flushing supply. There is no separate thru-hull to supply raw water. You have to have the main hull valve open to supply flushing water. I think some people have modified this to allow use of fresh water for flushing.

Our R29 uses fresh water for the head..no raw water intake.

Should be the same through hull as
the engine. Uses the same strainer. Probably 3 lines coming from sea strainer. One to engine, one to R/W wash down and a white hose going to head. Unless it wash changed to a fresh water system then there would be no sea cock as it uses the water from the fresh water tank. Hope this helps.
