Location of heading sensor

Can anyone tell me where the heading sensor could be mounted on a 2020 29S? It has gone out of calibration by 50 degrees from magnetic north. Thanks

If the compass deviation was a sudden occurrence, it’s very likely that something ferrous or magnetic was placed or shifted to a location nearby the heading sensor. I can’t help you with the location of that device on your particular boat, but if you recently moved things around, that may tell you the general location.

I have a 2019 R 29. In order to access my heading sensor I have to go down into the cave and remove a couple of the monkey fur covered panels. Sensor is on the right side located in the area underneath your throttle. It takes some work to access it.

Thanks for the feedback. I recently purchased an electric outboard which uses a magnet on its safety lanyard which I started hanging near the throttle. I moved it and the problem is resolved.
