Looking for a Diesel Engine Maintenance Course

Hello,

My first post on this forum, and hoping I have chosen the correct discussion board.

I'm looking for a diesel engine maintenance course, preferably on the U.S. West Coast. We live in the San Francisco Bay area.

I have found one so far in Southern California http://occsailing.augusoft.net/inde...=4572&int_category_id=0&int_sub_category_id=0. Any thoughts on that, or any other suggestions?

Thanks for the link!.. We bought a 25 in March and know a bunch about VWs but don't know a thing about diesels...yet! I live in Qxnard and will register tomorrow.

You are most welcome. With all of the marine diesel engines out there I am surprised there are not more courses.

Have not seen anything around here, I joined the USPS and am enrolled in several classes there but none like this. What Ranger or Cutwter do you have

It would be nice if you can find a class specific to your engine. In the Northeast Mack Boring is the distributor for Yanmar and they offer an engine specific class. It was great to be able to look at the engine outside of the boat and work on changing the impeller. It made replacement much easier having done it on the engine before. Did anyone see if Volvo offers a course anywhere? Just a thought.

I have the Cummins 150 hp...and thats what they have at the school!
