I vaguely remember a discussion of this in an earlier thread, but can't find it. So asking for some advice.
Today, when crashing across San Francisco Bay with a wicked ebb tide against a strong west wind (best of the Bay!), I found it easier and more comfortable to simply run faster at 3600 rpm. This was fine except for the fact that every hard landing caused the rpm's to go up because the shock pushed the throttle forward. Hanging onto the throttle wasn't much help since we were banging along pretty hard.
Is there any way to tighten the throttle so that it doesn't move quite so easily? I realize (or think) that this is a fly by wire throttle once you get rpm's past idle. I popped off the rubber cover over the clutch release and tried to tighten the nut on the throttle, but it struck me that this was not where the problem is (presuming it must be in the throttle housing).
Any advice would be welcome. Getting ready for BC and Desolation Sound and exercising the boat a bunch to test it out.
