Lost drive due to solenoid

My solenoid went out on my 2014-31CB that drives then transmission anyone having this issue getting a lot of salt spray in that area Volvo d4

Replaced both solenoids and all is good again it was $1,500 with parts and labor

Important to adjust and (or) replace shaft packing to reduce salt spray or it will happen again.

$1500 is cheap, in Canada solenoids are $1800 plus labour and 12% tax.

From what I understand of the redesigned part the corrosion issue is no more. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

It is better but members have posted that they are subject to failure as well if salt spray is not effectively controlled.

Mine failed stuck in forward gear My mechanic changed out both of them out and said they couldn’t see any evidence of corrosion it just failed .
