Loud rubbing noise

When anchored with a sideways swell, there is a loud rubbing noise in the rear cabin by the study desk corner. It appears to be interior fiberglass against the interior teak siding. This is for a 2012 R-27. I stuffed some plastic sheet down as far as possible which reduces the noise, but wondered if Ranger had a better solution. Do not want to drill holes to anchor the exterior cabin to the interior fiberglass if at all possible.

Don't recall ever hearing about any noises on this model or what it could be coming from. Most of the time when I hear of rubbing noises it is coming from the teak wall skins or something rubbing the fiberglass like this. Might have to experiment and show us where you are placing stuff to stop the squeak. You are welcome to send those photos directly to factoryguy@rangertugs.com

Hi. Has there been any further discovery on this type of noise?

Our 2011 R-27 pops and groans all day and night if there is any rolling in the anchorage. The noise occurs on the port side at the back of the cabin. I can feel stick/slip motion between the teak inner panel and the top of the cave entrance where they meet.

Has anyone ever just bolted this wall together to stop the noise? Did it work? Any other solution?

I have a 2014 C30. Also lots of noise in a rolling sea. I have had no luck in finding the source and stopping it....

The creaking on my boat was where the teak panel rubbed against the fiberglass. I put some foam sill seal between the two and it stopped. Cheap, thin and when you push it in (create a gap first), it is unseen.
