This is regarding my 2016 Cutwater 30 CB. So.......upon starting the engine for the first time after changing oil, fluids & filters, I got the dreaded "Low System voltage" message. Never happened before. The little battery symbol on the Garmin was also glowing red. Not knowing what to do, I simply clicked the "OK" button & the message went away & stayed away all the way to Blakely Hbr. It reappeared however, the next day upon starting. Clicked OK & went home.
House batteries are starting their 3rd year & thruster battery is new (all Universal). Engine battery is a Northstar & is going on its 4th year. Can't believe it's a battery issue. Our use of house batteries is very minimal (former sailboat habits). That leaves the alternator as prime suspect. How to check alternator output with my multimeter? Suggestions for a simple fix??
Discovered the Northstar company went away. A good replacement would be the Odyssey G31 Extreme, a powerful battery. But I think my Northstar still has lots of life left in it.
