What size magnesium anodes would be best for the trim tabs on my R27 OB- just concerned about weight
I am in fresh water

Ours has the R-3 zincs. Something to consider, make sure that the anodes on the outboard are also magnesium. It can cause problems if you have both zinc and magnesium anodes at the same time.

Thanks, yes I am changing them all

I run all Aluminum anodes. They work in freshwater, they work in salt water. The Yamaha engine has many internal anodes, all are aluminum.

Thanks , I was told that Aluminum does not work well in fresh water "No, aluminum anodes are not the ideal choice for freshwater; they are most effective in saltwater and brackish water, while magnesium anodes are the best choice for freshwater applications because of their high current output, which is necessary for freshwater's higher resistivity. Although aluminum anodes can provide some protection in freshwater, magnesium anodes offer superior protection in freshwater environments by working more effectively and efficiently"

Thanks , I was told that Aluminum does not work as well in fresh water I will most likely go with aluminum because that is what is in the motor
