Main Cabin TV Replacement

The 18" Majestic LCD TV in the main cabin is failing and I'm looking for a reasonable substitute. Majestic's 12V TVs are ridiculously priced. I caught a thread where it appeared to indicated that RT is now using Jensen TVs. Is that correct? The Jensen TVs are a little more than half the price of the Majestic TV equivalent.

I ran across a YouTube video from Teal on SV Basik a while back where he was purchasing a regular TV that had an external transformer which converted 110 AC to 12 DC. He would then direct wire on his boat. Here is a link to the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8U-3DX3694. HE does some nice work with his rebuild. The TV he is installing is a Vizio. Check it out and do some research on the televisions for home use that may work out.

Instead of an external speaker, you should be able to use a bluetooth transmitter at the TV that will be received by the Fusion head unit. That way you can take advantage of the installed speakers. Less clutter, less stuff.

The one we bought doesn't seem to be available anymore (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1000965-REG/qfx_tvled_1612d_15_6_led_tv_with.html, but it was very reasonably priced (<$200). It was a 12V TV (cut the wire to the 110V power block and wired it to 12V directly, worked great).

We added a bluetooth transmitter to speaker out and hooked it to our stereo through bluetooth, which gives great quality audio.

Beardco and doke01, I was advised against using a bluetooth transmitter because of delays between the audio and video. What has been your experience? What type of transmitter did you get. Thanks and regards.
