I have a 2015 R-31 CB. The TV in the cabin has power (red light is on) but will not turn on. Any ideas/suggestions?

thanks,

Does your remote need new batteries? Also, power cycling the TV has worked for us, pulling the power plug from the back, waiting about a minute and then plugging in again.

Hi Jeffrey,

You can turn the tv on 2 ways. Normally you would use the remote. If the remote does not work there are power, channel, volume and source buttons directly on the TV. If that does not work you may have the tv set to a source that does not have a signal and would then show a black screen. Hope this helps.

Make sure your remote has the "TV" button selected. I had to learn that one the hard way. I hope it is that easy.

I hope that helps.

I have a 2014 31S and the TV will be on and then it just turns off without warning. I was using it to better see the fishfinder while we were drifting with the engine on, plenty of voltage per the garmin, and it just kept turning off.

any ideas for that?

Mine does the same. No idea why. Very intermittent. Sometimes will be fine for hours, other times it won’t stay on for more than ten minutes or so.

Not knowing the TV manufacture that was installed in your boats this may or may not be of use. We have a 2016 Cutwater so the same vintage as some of the post to this thread. The 12V TV in our boat is a Majestic. We were having strange operation malfunctions with the TV. Turn it on worked fine then picture would start to come and go. Turn it off then tun it on a few moments later. Sometimes it would work fine sometimes not. The sound would come and go. I called Majestic ,left a message and I did get a call back. The suggestion from the technical support representative was to install a 12 Volt power cable with high end power filter. He said they recommend using this filter when there are several 12 Volt users tied to the battery bank that the TV is powered from. An example he gave was a boat. He sent me a filter because the TV was under warranty. I installed it and we have never had an issue with this TV. We use this TV in the pilot house. We have a 26" smart TV in the V-Berth area which is powered through the inverter or shore power 120V.

Brian, is he talking about a ground loop noise suppression filter or a power rectifier/regulator? Can you post a picture of the one he sent you?
