I just installed a new , larger tv antenna , Glomex 14 '' V9112/12AASY , hoping for better reception , 2013 R27 . boat is in a steel building . I went to menu , then channel list ( showed about 8 channels ) and then tried to find '' autoscan '' i could not find the button or how to do it . When i went around the channels the 8 channels said no reception ( the channels were not what i would call local channels ) We have only used the TV with cable at the dock before . Maybe you won't get any channel in a steel building ? Can anyone shed some light on this ? Thanks Dave

I think your steel building is an issue. I installed the larger Glomex and got getter reception, but unless you are near a major city the stations can be off beat. Brush up on your Spanish.

And be prepared to shop...

Our marina is sunken for lack of a better word. It has steep banks on all sides, especially in the direction of broadcast antenna. I looked at the reception of several expensive marine antenna on other boats for local broadcast. My $10.99 rabbit ears work just as well. I set them on the swim platform. It's super classy. My smaller Glomex is in the box in my garage still. A couple live a boards have the portable satellite dishes that are weighted and they keep on deck.

You might consider a satellite dish mounted on the building or one of the portable ones set outside. Our Direct TV is only $15.00 a month with a AAA discount and at least it''s enough to get the news etc.
