My Majestic 12volt tv DVD just won't cooperate. Can't get the DVD to play or eject. The remote is lacking "buttons" to do anything with the DVD player capability of the set. Does anyone else find this appliance to be confounding?

I had problems with my remote not "matching" my tv.
My dealer got me the name of Majestic's office, in Miami I believe (no I didn't keep it).
I talked to the supposed CEO from, I believe, Australia, who explained that sometimes remotes on
boats AT DEALERS WALK FROM BOAT TO BOAT, and the remote has to match the TV batch and they batch in one hundreds.

I took the tv down - took a picture of the model, serial number label - emailed it to him and surprise of surprises my serial number did not match any "batch" in their computer. Sounds bad right ?

He overnighted me 6 remotes for me to test and number 4 worked.

So I would contact your dealer or Andrew and get the contact data.

I seem to remember there are actual buttons for some of the DVD functions on the unit. Try looking on the side by the DVD

Yes, there are buttons on my TV but there are functions that only work on mine with the remote.
Input being one of them, it was impossible to change from TV to DVD without the remote. Everyone in the help chain saw the buttons as the solution until we tested it enough times to drive me insane or maybe MORE insane.

Getting the matching remote worked for me. 😀

There is power to the tv...green light at the lower left and a red light that never goes out above the tv to the right. There is a DVD in the slot that I can't get out. The eject button on the side isn't working and the control buttons on the top of the tv get no response. Majestic appears on the screen at times and then disappears. The remote will turn the power on and off, but that's about all. I'm considering the cost in time and aggravation against the cost of buying a new unit from a reliable manufacturer.

This seems to be happening on mine as well, 2011 r25sc. I thought I was the only one being driven crazy. Luckily I seldom watch the DVD. I will keep an eye on this thread in case a solution crops up so I can use the DVD again someday.

Well, I put new batteries in the remote and Kenny kindly sent me an owners manual as I didn't have one. The remote shown in the manual is different than mine, and the 6 DVD buttons on the right side of the tv, according to the manual, differ from my tv...I only have 2 buttons. Tomorrow I go to the boat for the sole purpose of fixing things, and trying to figure out the tv. Here's hoping!

Fresh batteries in the remote, an owners manual from Kenny and a slightly different manual from Mike Rizzo (my remote doesn't match either manual) and I still can't get the DVD to eject. The power button turns the set on and 2 seconds of the Majestic screen saver....sometimes the "no signal" message, and then nothing shows no matter what button(s) I press. All I want is to watch a DVD (the tv gets no channels). Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Phil,
Maybe your dealer somehow gave you the wrong remote. If the remote frequency does not match the tv, then the buttons wont work. However, many of the functions can be obtained by using the buttons on the top of the tv without the control. What I can't figure though is that my TV has the eject on the side of the tv where you put the DVD in. I don't know why yours does not.

Mike, I have two buttons on the right side of the tv, near the DVD slot. Nothing happens when I use the controls on the tv except the power button turns the set on/ off, as does the power button on the remote. Time to call Majestic.

Yes, perhaps a call to Majestic. I found in the beginning things to be a bit confusing with the TV. I did eventually figure it out. Without using the remote the buttons on top of the tv do have double duty once you are in the menu mode. I can't remember, but you may have to be in the DVD mode for the eject button to work. In any event it does sound like you have a remote that is not paired to the tv.

Mike, I've tried every button on the remote and can't get anything but a blank screen. I'm stumped. One last chance....there will be a teenager on the boat tomorrow. If he can't make it work, it's serious!

I know on my TV for some reason when I have my satellite reciever plugged into the HDMI input and the reciever is turned off things don't work until I remove HDMI ... My point being if you have anything plugged into the TV try removing it .. My $0.02 worth ... Good luck as these things although small seem to be the most fraustrating

Phil,
I am not referring to the remote, I am referring to the control buttons on the top of the TV. Many of the functions can be done by using the TV buttons on the top. I think there is a menu button up there and then you can move the cursor around using the volume buttons and the channel buttons. I am not on my boat now to be able to give you the specific commands.

Mike, I mentioned in an earlier post that the control buttons on the top of the tv will turn the power on and off, but nothing else.

Phil

If you are saying that you can't get channels to change of do volume at minimum from the top buttons, then I think you have a bum TV.
