Hi there,
I'm currently working through the MOB install on my boat, but using the ACR OLAS product. They function the same, for all intents and purposes. A few key things you need to be aware of:
1) the MOB systems require a kill switch lead. My 2016 CW C-30CB did not have this, so I bought a different wiring harness between the e-key and the Volvo binnacle at my interior helm.
2) after doing the above, I went to look at installing it, but the number of wires and colors in the wiring harness aside from the kill switch leads didn't match what my boat currently has.
I reached out to Pacfic Power Group to learn more about this, and they advised me that on any inboard diesel with mulitple helm stations and the EVC-E system (most boats after 2015 or 2016 have this I think), the system won't work the way we want it to. If you wire it to the main helm in the cabin, if you take control of the helm from the cockpit (if you have this), or the command bridge with the binnacle "take control" switch, it will render the MOB system useless / inoperative because it disables the e-key start/stop switch from stopping the engine while the other helms are in control. A disappointing realization for sure but I'm glad I found this out.
The only way PPG could advise me to get around this was a two option approach:
1) install a power relay that connects the MOB system to the "Fireboy" fire supression system input on the engine and "hack it" so that the MOB system sends a fake "there's a fire" voltage signal over the relay which would kill the engine when someone falls overboard wearing the bracelet
2) install a fireboy automated fire suppression system for diesel engines and use their OOB relay board to dock the MOB system into, which will trigger the engine kill when someone falls overboard.
I'm currently looking at doing #2, but this will add another $500+ to my install cost, but i'll also get a fire suppression system out of the deal.
