On our 2022 R25OB I installed a Rocna 10 and Mantus anchor guard on the stock bow roller. The stock bow roller, I’ve found, is probably fine if you only anchor occasionally but we anchor a lot. The problem for us is that the rode rides up over the end flukes unless the rode is straight on, which requires stopping to readjust the rode, etc. Not a big deal if one does not anchor a lot so I’m considering the Mantus BR1 because it is more substantial and I’m thinking it would eliminate the rode situation. I’d like to hear from others who made this change and your thoughts.

Check out Tokitae pics….lots of mods including bow roller with bail. I went with a long LEWMAR bow roller (19-21”?) as the mantus seemed too short. The anchor rode side loads, even for a brief period, can be substantial. Used a custom made piece of starboard as a deck spacer. It was very reasonably priced and fit perfectly.

I swapped out the stock bow roller for the BR1 (R23). It is a good bow roller but I also find that the rode will ride up on the sides at times when retrieving if not square on. I'm often up front when retrieving because the rode and chain like to be "assisted" into the anchor locker anyhow. The bow roller edges are wide and have not seen any wear on the rode, nor have I seen the rode go up over the sides when the anchor is deployed. I think there are pictures of the roller and anchor mate in my photo album.

We replaced the stock bow roller on our C-28 with a Kingston KR-1015 Bow Roller - Polish Finish. It was designed to work with Rocna anchors up to 15 kg. Works great. None of the issues you are having with the rode either deploying, retrieving or just resting at anchor. LOTS of clearance between the Rocna 10’s anchor tip and the hull.
Since it’s quite a bit larger than the stock bow roller I have to set my Rocna 10 on the boats bow deck when launching or retrieving to our EZ Loader trailer. The anchor will interfere with the winch mast if I don’t do that. Especially on shallow launch ramps.
