It's time for the March Photo Contest!

This month's theme starts in the galley! What are you cooking on board? Send in a photo of your favorite meal/meals that you’ve had on your boat and a brief description (or even better, a recipe!) and where you were.

Please send your photos to briandickhaut@rangertugs.com

We'll be taking submissions until 11:59pm March 30th

If you're not familiar with our Tugnuts Monthly Photo Contest, every month we give away a pair of custom embroidered Ranger Tugs or Cutwater Boats jackets! Each month has a new theme and entry in the contest is simple, just email your photo and a description or comment to briandickhaut@rangertugs.com and at the end of the month we'll hold a vote here at the factory to select the winner. If you win, we'll announce it here on Tugnuts and send you an email to arrange your free jackets.

Sorry we don’t usually take pictures of fixing meals in the galley but I can explain what we do. We do a lot of pre-cooked meals at home in the crockpot, one of our favorite is pulled pork.
What we do is cook the meals then let them cool then we seal them with our vacuum sealer but do not vacuum just seal. We then freeze the meal. We take these meals out on the boat and heat them up in boiling water, this makes for easy meals and also saves on dishes as they are heated while in the bag so you are not dirtying pots and pans.

That's a great tip, thank you for sharing!

"Typical dinner on Wanderer our 21ec while at anchor. Beef tenderloin cooked on the BBQ. With baby potatoes roasted in Greek salad dressing wrapped in tinfoil on the BBQ with feta cheese melted on top. Caesar salad on the side. A glass of wine and cup of fruit and share some cookies with a pot of tea to finish it off.
Enjoy!"

"Here we are in Grace Harbour, near Desolation Sound, last summer grilling some very fresh oysters.
Vicki likes her’s dipped in a mix of butter, lemon juice, curry powder, fresh ground garlic with a pinch of salt and Tabasco added to taste."

"Spent about an hour diving for clams. Had to get clever about opening these giant quahogs. Made for a delicious spaghetti and clam sauce."

"One of our favorite meals on our R27 is Pizza! We keep a ready supply of homemade refrigerated Pizza dough in the fridge. We turn much of our summer tomatoes into pizza sauce that we freeze and then bring on the boat the following year. It is baked in a cast iron pan in the oven. The availability of the propane oven to make pizza even when on the hook was a big reason we chose the R27 over the R25!"

"BBQ salmon, strawberries, grilled naan with balsamic and green salad with a light cream dressing.
All created on our 25 foot tug, 'Gratitude.'"

"We’ve always been told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Pictured here aboard Pura Vida, a classic R-27, is hot coffee from Whidbey Island, and homemade breakfast parfaits made with local fruit from the grocery store in Comox. As we enjoy our meal, we take in a breathtaking view of Comox Harbour on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada."

From Mike and Sarah D.

"This was a couple weeks back. We did our training with Tim and Ivan then headed over to Gig Harbor for a night at the marina. Saturday morning headed up to our slip at the Everett marina. This is our first dinner on our R27 named Salty Bliss. Smoked pork shoulder tacos. Looking forward to many more memories."

"One of the things I love about boating is that the captain likes to make breakfast! Here he is in the galley scrambling up some eggs with ham and English muffins on the side. With music playing in the background, it is a great way to start our day."

'breakfast with Daddy' on the boat and it's fun for me as well!"

"A great tip from the Waggoners Guide if you don't want to fish all day grab a six pack of Corona (or good quality) beer and walk down the dock! Chances are you will return to your boat with some great filets for dinner!"
