Hi Aura, nice pics of your Martini in the Gallery,...Is it the electric or diesel version?

Slackwater,
How about a "link" to the Martini you're writing about, since we don't have "Aura's" link in your posting.
Also, is a electric Martini one with vodka, and diesel, with gin, or the other way around??? I think I can follow this thread a lot easier than the immensely convoluted threads about batteries and chargers and electrical issues......whew, give me a Martini any day!
THANKS
p.s. Did you mean Galley, or Gallery????? not a clue

Bluebayou,
no link needed. Look in the Tugnuts Member Gallery for Aura's photos they recently posted. Click on member photos on the home page to get to the gallery.
The Ranger/C-dory Martini came in 2 versions one had electric drive and one had a diesel engine (Martinis were built on the same hull as the R-21 classic).
As for the type of martini...... I'd guess both with either gin or vodka, but then one would have an onion (acid) and one would have an olive (oil) 🙂

An onion would actually make it a Gibson

OK, Slackwater,
I think if you asked 100 people on the street what a "Martini" was, you'd get about 99 per cent saying "mixed drink.
I had no idea Ranger or C-Dory produced a boat with that name.
And, of course, a Martini cocktail would be mixed in a Galley, not a Gallery.
Interestingly, the word Galley also refers to a ship, a large ship manned by oars, prominent in warfare in the first few centuries A.D., as in a "Roman galley," perhaps with Cleopatra aboard.......oh, well, back to the Martini.
THANKS, it's clear as mud, now---but then, there are dirty Martinis........

Back in the 2004or2005 time frame Ranger was listed as Martini Marine. They built the Tug version and the Martini launch version. It appears that as the EC came along and tug business picked up they discontinued building the Martini launch. The Martini Marine website disappeared and the Martini Boats website appeared. I think Martini Boats is in the East somewhere. When I purchased my 2006 Tug from them in Dec. 2005 it was called an R21. The Livingston family and all employees were as good and responsive as they are now. A great little boat and factory to back it up.

If you look carefully at the hull, engine box, rear seat etc,,, it's an R-21classic without the raised bulwarks on the bow and no pilothouse. Ranger only sold them for a couple of years... didn't know someone was still producing them.
Looks like we now know what Ranger did with the old hull moulds from the R-21 classic....musta sold 'em to someone from New York.

Ask 100 people on the street what a Ranger was and you'd get 99% saying, either a member of the Army's special forces, or a Guy that keeps pic-a-nic baskets safe from your smarter than average bear.

Not being much of a drinker (my one flaw?) I'm at a dis-advantage when discussing adult libations

I often use oars on my R-21 (good work-out)... so I guess while it doesn't have a galley...it is a galley..or do I need more than one set of oars?... :?

Slackwater as always you're dead on. The boats are now made in new york and targeted as a pump out boat for the work version and targeted as a cruising boat for the non-work version. See them from time to time in NE boat shows. Interesting, a tug as a galley. Like it. Folks, as for the cocktail: dirty, dry, gibson, flavored, doesn't matter to me. If you want them in the galley, that's your perogative folks but I prefer cocktails in the cockpit....

Hello all Tugnuts

The Aura has the Yanmar 3GM30 and is the same hull design minus the bulwark and pilothouse.

it is my understanding that Green Marine has not produced any boats and Arnold Cohen from Green Marine has told me that an uncompleted hull ,the mould and rights to produce are for sale for $25,000.

There are many modifications that have been done to AURA that apply to the R21 and no Martini owners group.

Aura is going on a 3 or 4 day cruise this week from Fort Lauderdale to explore Miami and the upper Keys.

I have not heard of another M21 that is being cruised.

I take mine shaken not stirred.

There will be more pictures posted.

Thank You

Capt. Mike

I spent yesterday morning scrubbing as the only dirty martini I like comes in a glass.
