After our Mase 2.7 genset shut down and showed an E-87 error, I found lots of useful information here on TugNuts.
I found this capacitor on Amazon with the same numbers on it from my generator. It is identical size and specs as the original and it works perfectly. I plan to order a spare since others report this isn’t an uncommon problem.
Removing the exhaust hoses and muffler made access easier to the aft, outboard corner of the genset which is where the capacitor is located. I also removed the screws on the motor mounts and tilted the entire genset towards me to make it easier to work on the back of it.
Took me about 1 1/2 hours.
Next time maybe half that.
Not a difficult repair.
Thanks for the tips in previous posts…
