Mase be set

Maintenance time. In checking the Mase Genset manual on changing oil I read about the proper weight to use and to use a diesel oil but no word as to brand or grade (CJ, SJ etc). We have the Mase 2.7 model. Does anyone have the suggested information?

DELO 30wt. a Chevron product. As recommend by the dealer. The brand really doesn't matter provided it meets the spec requirements, DELO does..

That generator uses the Yanmar L70AE engine according to Mase. I found a manual online http://www.scribd.com/apelsis/d/48808860-L-A-Manual-1 noting that the L70AE should use 10/30W API grade CC or higher.

Partial to Rotella here (Delo is excellent)...
Rotella T6 - 5W40 if you want a synthetic -
Rotella T - 15W40 for petroleum base

Hi Jim,

We also have the IS 2.7 in our R27. The boat came with both the Yanmar engine and Mase genset manuals. The engine is a Yanmar LV48. For a -10C to 40C temp range the Mase manual specifies 20W40 without any service grade requirement. The Yanmar manual specifies 15W40 grade API CD or higher for -15C to 40C. I used Delo 400LE 15W40 when I changed the oil during winterization.
