Today I was enjoying one of the few sunny days in the month of June by cruising up Bass River. on Cape Cod, MA. I remembered to lower the radio antenna but forgot about the mast. Made it under the first bridge OK but, was about 2 inches too close to the bottom of the second. Resulting damage was (just) the masthead light. I have a 2008 R21 and am asking if anyone knows the make of the fixture. I want to replace the item with whatever the factory installed. Your help would be appreciated.

My weather cover is marked Perko.

John, I would have guessed Perko.... Check it out here, compare the pictures, bet you can find out what you want. Hope you have a high speed internet connection, the whole catalog is 45MB 😱 but with a little intuition, you can find what you want without downloading the whole thing.

I've heard of Lindsay's Law which says: "When the draft of your vessel exceeds the depth of the water, you are most assuredly aground".

Now, it seems we have a corollary, Shea's Law which says: "When the height of your mast exceeds the clearance of the bridge, you will need a new masthead light"....

Good luck. Let all the tugnuts know what model it is for the record and remember to duck the next time! Glad there was no more damage than that!

John - you may need to check with the factory for your year boat. Our 2009 appears to have Aqua Signal Series 25 Nav lights. Alex.

I called the factory Monday and the lady on the other end of the phone was very helpful. My 2008 has the Aqua Signal fixtures. I was able to purchase a replacement at the local West Marine. Thanks to Ranger Tugs and Alex.
